Rule 560 - Circumstances in which cab signals give no indication:

Cab Signals will give no indication ahead when the engine is:

1. Moving against the current of traffic.
2. Pushing cars.
3. Running backward but not equipped with cab signal apparatus for backward movement.

EXPLANATION:

    In ABS territory, where CSS rules are in effect, the cab signal system is coded for the current of traffic only. Therefore, when movement against the current of traffic is authorized by Form D, line 2, The Engineer must place the territory selector switch to the "non-coded" or "out" position. Uf the territory selector switch is not properly positioned, the Aspect Display Unit will display Restricting and will not allow the movement to proceed faster than Restricted Speed.
