BLE&T Division 272 Chaplain's Page

The Chaplain's Page you see here is something new for The "Unofficial" Hoboken Division Engineer's Web Page. In fact, after checking all the BLE&T links I can find I have found no other Chaplain's web page among any of the current BLE&T web sites. I find this perplexing since all BLE&T Divisions have a chaplain as an elected post and I would like to have believed that at least one other Division would have a chaplain's page as a part of their site.

The purpose of this site is to honor the Lord by recognizing Him as the sole Creator of man and the universe in which we live and our total dependence on Him. That the Creator of the universe became man and died so that we may be forgiven of our sins and have eternal life.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life .

As I see it, another part of the Chaplain's duties, beside assisting in the opening and closing of meetings, is to highlight humanitarian activities that support our members, their families, as well as those who protect and serve the membership including United States military personnel. To that end you will note below what I believe to be a worthy cause in support of our troops who have given so much and asked so little. Please read and participate in Operation Quiet Freedom. It is a worthy endeavor. If you wish to spotlight another group who supports our military forces  in a positive way please let me know and I will post the proper contact information.

Operation Quiet Comfort

SPONSOR AN APPLE PIE FOR AN AMERICAN HERO!

Operation Quiet Comfort is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides support and comfort to wounded U.S. troops and those that care for them. Throughout the year, we create and ship care packages containing Four Freedoms Gratitude Quilts – signed with messages of love, hope and encouragement from a grateful nation – GO Bags (transition kits) filled with items like hygiene and grooming products, clothing, entertainment and support from the home front. In addition to these care packages, we ship Staff Gift Shipments to help take care of the medics and personnel who care for our wounded – with items like good coffee, sugar, flavored creamers, healthy snacks and more. When requested by the units we support, we will often help fulfill special requests for items they are in need of throughout the year.

However, when it comes to the holidays, we would like to make these times a little “extra special” for all of these heroes – with something that will give them all a little taste of home while far away – since pie tins don’t travel too well around the world – we’ve found the next best thing – Montana Tom's Apple Pie In A Jar!

Our goal is to provide one for each person at the 40 units that Operation Quiet Comfort currently supports. Our goal - a total of 1200 Pies In A Jar! The cost for each Pie In A Jar (including shipping and handling) is only $15. Pies can be ordered through November 15th .

Please note, shipping charges will show up in the order process, but will not be charged to your credit card.

Or make your donation tax deductible by sending a Check payable to Operation Quiet Comfort (with a note that it is for a Pie In A Jar) to:
