T'men's Page
The BLE/Teamsters alliance is a year old now and incumbent in this "great experiment " is the inclusion of trainmen in order to "begin a partnership to strengthen our ability to represent workers across the transportation spectrum.” It is in this spirit that the Board of Directors of the "Unofficial" Hoboken Engineer's Web Site in an epic show of unity has voted 4 to 3 to directed the Webmaster of the "Unofficial" Hoboken Division Engineer's Web Site to include a page for trainmen.
Following the spirit, if not the letter, of
this less than subtle mandate of the Board I have started this page in an
attempt to bind the engineers and trainmen into one cohesive unit dedicated
to the betterment of both operating crafts here at New Jersey Transit Rail
Operations.
One of the requirements of this new alliance is that engineers must think
not only in terms of what is best for engineers but must also see our
problems in the transportation industry from the viewpoint of our new
allies, the trainmen. How trainmen perceive themselves in this complex
world, their hopes, their dreams, now become perceptions and our hopes and dreams.
Included in this page will be subjects of vital interest to trainmen and trainwomen working on New Jersey Transit's vast and complex rail system. Check the links below to find articles of interest to trainmen and trainwomen and check back often to see what the BLE is doing to help our brothers in the uniformed ranks.
